Without horses or cars, having three mini kingdoms in that area makes sense. these are not 'exact' calculations of course, but I feel in regards to 'lore-based', the island being the size of two Californias stacked next to each other sounds about right. Just did a google map 'walking' calculation for the length of California (Sacramento to San Diego), and it came to 10 days walk, 5am-11pm. So, it's about 11-12 in game days of walking from far NE (Bark) to far SW (Drifter's Last). Because I use a pretty intense darker nights mod, travelling at night is not good as you can't see enemies until they are right upon you (in the lantern range), so most of my travel sort hops from city to city to get where I'm going. Usually arrive 9-11pm (sunset thereabouts) at the next city. If I'm going to travel between cities, I'll usually haul up till dawn (5am), and set out first thing. As a rule of thumb I've noticed that the cities are spaced out around one in game day's travel (at walk speed) from each other. They are also the only items on the map that can be seen at any zoom level, besides your own settlements. They often have a large selection of stores and multiple buildings for sale. Major Towns tend to be large settlements with many buildings and residents. ![]()
